Q:
What are my continuing education requirements?
A: Members have a couple of options: Take a one day ASEA
- C on snow event every season, or a two day ASEA - C on snow event
every other season. Members can alternate dryland clinics and two
day on snow events for their continuing education.
Q: Does an examination clinic
count towards my education?
A: Yes.
Q: How often
can I take a dryland clinic?
A: A member can only take a dryland clinic once every
four years for education credit. Beyond that, a member can take as
many dryland clinics as they desire.
Q: Is there different continuing
education requirements for students?
A: Yes. Active Students must attend an education event every
four years.
Q: How much credit do I get for attending an approved NON-
ASEA- C clinic?
A: Members only get ONE SEASON worth of credit no matter
how many days the clinic runs.
Q: How do I apply to get credit
for a NON- ASEA – C Event?
A: You must fill out a NON- ASEA – C request form and have
it approved prior to attending the clinic. Requests submitted after
the event is over will not be considered.
Q: How do I get credit for attending
an event in another ASEA region?
A: You can get credit by turning in the “Attendance Verification”
form to our office or have that region contact us verifying your attendance.
Q: Can I take a certification
clinic in another ASEA region?
A: A member may take a certification clinic in another ASEA
region only if permission has been granted. If the member is granted
permission, they must meet all requirements for the exam as set by
that division. ASEA-C automactically allows members to become Adaptive
Level 3 Certified in another ASEA region, as long as they meet the
certification requirements, since it is not offered in Central.
Q: How often may I attend events
in other ASEA regions and receive credit for my participation?
A: Members may only receive credit for clinics outside the
Central Division once every four years.
Q: What are my options if I
cannot attend an event this season and I am due for my education?
A: You have a few options depending on the circumstances,
they are as follows:
1. If you are teaching – you can apply
for an education waiver. Members are granted FOUR waivers for the
lifetime of their membership. Waivers must be requested for the current
or future season. Waivers cannot be used for past years. The cost
of the waivers are:
1st Waiver – FREE
2nd Waiver - $50.00
3rd & 4th Waiver - $100.00 EACH
2. If you are not teaching – you can
apply for INACTIVE STATUS. Members who have taught for more than 10
years can apply for ALUMNUS STATUS. Both Inactive and Alumnus mean
the same thing, however, Alumnus indicates the length of one’s teaching
career as a ASEA – C member. You are not required to pay National
dues or attend education events, but are encouraged to participate.
You shouldn’t let your education lapse for more than four years or
you will be in danger of losing your certification.
Q: Are any of the exams open
book?
A: No. All exams are closed book.
Q: If I am taking an exam, is
it necessary for me to list a second and third choice on the Education
