MEMBERSHIP FAQs

Q: At what age can someone join ASEA-C and attend education clinics?
A: 15 years old.

Q: What is the youngest age at which a person may become ASEA – C certified?
A:
16 years old.

Q: What do I pay as a new member of ASEA – C?
A:
If you intend to become certified, you must pay both Division and National dues of $95.00 ($45.00 Division + $50.00 National). If you are not going to become certified during the same season you have joined, you are only responsible to pay Division dues.

Q: Does the Central Division have a student discount on membership?
A:
Yes. Students ages 16 to 23, providing proof (i.e. copy of transcripts or Student ID) only have to pay $70.00 in dues ($25.00 Division + $45.00 National). Again, if you are not going to become certified during the same season you have joined, you are only responsible to pay Division dues.

Q: What are my options if I cannot attend an event this season and I am due for my education?
A:
You have a few options depending on the circumstances, they are as follows:

1. If you are teaching – you can apply for an education waiver. (Click Here for Form) Members are granted FOUR waivers for the lifetime of their membership. Waivers must be requested for the current or future season. Waivers cannot be used for past years. The cost of the waivers are:

1st Waiver – FREE
2nd Waiver - $50.00
3rd & 4th Waiver - $100.00 EACH

2. If you are not teaching – you can apply for INACTIVE STATUS. Members who have taught for more than 10 years can apply for ALUMNUS STATUS. Both Inactive and Alumnus mean the same thing, however, Alumnus indicates the length of one’s teaching career as a ASEA – C member. You are not required to pay National dues or attend education events, but are encouraged to participate. You shouldn’t let your education lapse for more than four years or you will be in danger of losing your certification.
