Author and instructor Ron LeMaster will present "Skiing from the Snow Up: Technique, Tactics and Biomechanics", a series on the what, why, and how of skiing that will connect what you feel when you ski, what you do and say when you teach, and the basic mechanics of skiing. You can expect to come away with a better understanding of how the snow, our equipment, and our bodies work together to create the experience of skiing. That understanding will help you improve as a skier and instructor, and if you're pursuing PSIA certification, give you a leg up on the process.
The event content will cover : Skiing Mechanics: How skis work with the snow to shape turns and control speed, and important aspects of turn dynamics.
Technique: How we use our bodies to balance against our skis and manipulate them to produce the turns we want.
Tactical Applications: Reading the mountain, deciding what you want to do, and assembling the movements in real-time to create the turns to make it happen.
All PSIA/AASI members must follow the PSIA/AASI code of conduct.
