ALPINE

These standards provide a training focus, and represent a minimum competency for each level of certification. The premise of the certification standards is based upon the concepts of "levels of understanding" which define stages of learning in degrees of understanding. As certification is a measure of understanding, levels of certification represent stages of understanding. Candidates will be held to the knowledge and performance standards of the level at which they are testing as well as the criteria for all preceding levels.

Alpine Certification Study Guides
This study guide is intended as an educational tool for the entry level instructor. The goal of the study guide is to help develop the skills necessary to teach beginning level students. The new books needed for all three Alpine Levels are:

PSIA-C Portfolio
What is the Portfolio? The Alpine Certification Committee has developed a strategic pathway that provides personal growth for instructors regardless of plans, or no plans, for certification. The
Core Concepts manual addresses the use of "stepping stones”. This methodology of education-based program development presents choices an instructor can make to move forward in his or her career as an instructor. PSIA-C has recognized a need to provide additional educat
ion programs, geared to provide alternative education to our members .
