Central's event times are based on the time zone of the hosting area. All online events follow the division headquarters time zone (Eastern).

Dates: Saturday, February 29, 2020 - Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (2 Days)

Pathway to Education Staff

This event is open to anyone who meets the prerequisites of:
Alpine Level 3 Certified | Have an active trainer role at your home resort Ski School

Requirements:



    • Represent a High degree of professionalism

 

    • Outstanding communication skills

 

    • Self-starter re: continued professional development in skiing and teaching abilities

 

    • Ongoing contributor to the PSIA-AASI Knowledge Base

 

    • Commitment to work when/as needed (Please consider this carefully)

 

Education Staff Tryout Process: (All documents should be submitted by 2/19/20)

    • Submit a written essay/article suitable for publication. no more than 1000 words.

 

    • Cover letter should include "Why I would be an asset to the Education Staff" - (you can do this on your video) We'd like to understand why you are trying out, what unique qualities you'll bring to the team, and how you'll support it.

 

    • Submit a Video Portfolio of free-skiing and benchmarks. Just a reminder, it's LIII, so dial it up a bit- include some performance skiing, and bend 'em.

 

    • Prepare a 5-7 minute Indoor Presentation (on your article, or a subject of interest to you and the membership).

 

    • After vetting/review, receive an invitation to the on-snow 2-day tryout based on materials submitted. (no fee).

 

    • Be prepared to demonstrate your ability to prepare meaningful feedback (you may be asked to complete a sample scorecard).

 

    • Participate in both days of the tryouts. Inspire us. Upon successful tryout, you'll be hired immediately (ish), and start training.
